Membership of the Society is open only to individuals . Apply to join using the Membership Application form .
Details of how institutions can subscribe to The Lichenologist or The Bulletin are given on our publications page .
Membership categories are as follows:
- Ordinary Membership - Open to individuals only; full entitlement to all publications & facilities of the Society
- Electronic Membership - As Ordinary membership except that The Lichenologist is electronic access only.
- Life membership - Open to persons over 65 years of age. Entitlement as for Ordinary Membership

Associate Membership
(Annual Rates) - Each of the three categories of Associate membership enjoys full entitlement to all facilities of the Society as well as the Bulletin, but excluding The Lichenologist. The three categories are:
- Associate Member
- Senior Associate Member (over 65 years of age)
- Student Associate Membe r (under 18 years or full-time students)
- Family Membership - Open to persons of the same household as a member, having entitlement to all the facilities of the Society but receiving no publications and having no voting rights.

Subscriptions are due on joining and are for periods of calendar years. Back numbers of the current year's publications are sent to new members. Subsequent subscriptions are due in advance on the 1st January.
