New Approaches to Biological Recording

This DEFRA funded project is being led by CEH, the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, and involves several national societies and recording schemes as well as the BLS.

We will be involved in two aspects of the project:

• An evaluation of systematic volunteer surveys for biodiversity assessment and reporting on priority species and habitats

• Development and testing of a systematic survey of a priority habitat and associated priority species for lichens, bryophytes and fungi.
